The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has spoken about the results of the 2023 Presidential Election. The LP Presidential Candidate has said he will seek a redress about the just conducted election in court. He made this known earlier today via his social media handle on twitter.
He said in
his words:
“I have just
finished addressing an international Press Conference. I urge Nigerians to
remain resolute. We won this election and we will prove it Nigerians. We shall
reclaim our mandate via due process. Please do not despair. -PO”
Mr. Peter
Obi spoke after the INEC Chairman had declared Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the
All Progressive Congress (APC) as the presidential elect.
We will
strive for justice through legal means, says Peter Obi.
He reacted
to INEC’s declaration of the presidential elect and has said he would challenge
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through a very peaceful and lawful means.
Also a day
before, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Labour Party- Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, also made the intention of his presidential
candidate known to Nigerians.
He said this
on Wednesday, March 1, at a press conference held in Abuja.
“On
behalf of our Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, I address you all and indeed
all Nigerians on the current situation in the country following the announcement
of the purported results of the Presidential election held on Saturday, February
25th 2023.”
“Please
be assured of our determination to fight the injustice that has been perpetrated
on Nigerians through all legal and peaceful means. It is our position that the
purported result did not meet the minimum criteria of a transparent, free and
fair election,” – Baba-Ahmed said.
He however
thanked Nigerians for their belief in them and for coming out in mass to vote
for the Labour Party and a cause they believe in, which he said was the birth of
a new Nigeria.
